ASAM Academy on Migration organized an online workshop titled “Migration and Technology” on 5 May 2021, consisting of two sessions.
During the first session of the workshop, which included sessions on “Migration and Leading-Edge Technologies: Digital Identity and Smart Borders”, “Using Big Data and Mixed Methods in Migration Studies”, and “Migration Studies from an Interdisciplinary Perspective: Using Computer Engineering Techniques in Migration Studies”, Dr. Eren Emre Korkmaz addressed “digital identity” and the latest technologies such as “smart borders” and “artificial intelligence” used in the field of migration.
The second session of the workshop focused on the use of technology in research methods. In this context, Dr. Tuba Bircan discussed the use of big data and mixed methods in migration studies, while Prof. Dr. Albert Ali Salah explained the application of computer science methods in migration studies.
